When he was yet a long way off

£220.00

My interpretation of the parable of the Prodigal Son: The father sees the returning son while he was yet a long way off. I believe he watched for him each day.

The prodigal passes through water on his return, suggesting baptism. The father’s arms form the shape of the Chalice, around him grow grapes and wheat. The angry older brother is painted in violent colours.

It is one of a series of paintings depicting the parables and miracles of Jesus .
